Cup Cake Basics

After a late start to the morning, dropping Mr 9 off at basketball training at 8am, and miss moo off at her Nanny's house (who very kindly accepted the huge favor of taking her to dress rehearsals for her ballet concert next week) I finally arrived for my cup cake decorating course .http://www.thecupcakelady.com.au/
Soooo excited!! and apprehensive all at the same time.

I dragged my sister along (she is proficient in this so just for fun and company for me), we sat down at a bench for 2 and got straight into it making fondant flowers, once the nerves settled I enjoyed it immensely. Playing with the fondant was just like playing with the kids playdoh making all sorts of shapes using cutters and little plastic knives, it was fun.

We made a daisy flower, a snail with mushroom, used moulds, made strawberries, ruffle flower and Freddie the frog all out of fondant for the butter cream cakes.
Next we made fondant covered cup cakes, a bow, a quilted cup cake, lady bird and tried some embossing.

Then came out the butter cream, cringe! Ive never used a piping bag or mixed butter cream before, one thing i did learn about myself that i suck at icing cakes with my right hand, so left it was, much better result.

TuDAA my finished cup cakes, all in a days work (not really work it was so much fun)
